Heritage Farms Northwest Most our current stock of pork is from several hogs that were pastured on a 100% chemical free Hazelnut orchard. Our hogs got to harvest the whole 2009 nut crop. Hazelnut finished pork is known for its outstanding flavor. The fact that our hogs got chemical free nuts is icing on the cake. Almost all hazelnut orchards use heavy amounts of chemicals on their trees, so we were thrilled to find an orchard that was both willing to let the hogs harvest the nuts AND is chemical free as well. *All hazelnut finished pork is marked that way in the price list. If it doesn't say "Hazelnut Finished" it is from one of the hogs that stayed home and was raised and finished on quality clover/grass pastures, which are also 100% chemical free. We use no herbicides or synthetic fertilizers on our land. Grass finished meat is known for high levels of Omega -3 fatty acids as well as high levels of CLA's.
