We can also ship our Red Wattle Pork anywhere in the US if needed. Extra shipping charges will apply. Our 2010 price list for USDA meats can be viewed here
Premium Grass Fed Beef - Its taken 3 long years from the time the cows were bred until now, but we are finally there. We have 3 exceptionally well finished beef cows ready for sale by the side or by the whole. Our beef cows have spent every day of their life on our farm, eating only grass, hay, haylage (wrapped hay bales, fermented) and the occasional pumpkin after Halloween (they LOVE pumpkins). They have never been given or fed antibiotics, never been given hormone injections or implants, never been fed anything other then what a cow should eat. These are healthy, naturally raised grass fed and finished cattle. We raise our beef cattle to an age of at least 24 months, which means they have time to mature physically and thus are able to marble up naturally. Most store bought beef is marbled up by force feeding a high energy diet (grain by the truckloads) which causes the animal to put on fat while it is still immature, which is before it would naturally do so. Our beeves are naturally fattened on grass and clovers, as they should be. Please email for more information on how to order a side of Heritage Farms Northwest grass fed and finished beef. You will not be disappointed. This is by far the best beef you will ever eat. Oh.. If a full side is to much, see if you can round up a friend or two and share a side. That way you can enjoy the savings found in buying bulk and you can still have the meat cut to your specifications, but you'll be sharing the cost and receiving a bit more manageable amount of meat.
Narragansette Turkeys - We have several heritage Narragansette Turkeys for sale this year. We have too many mature hens. If you would like a turkey hen please let us know. The hens are good layers, good sitters and good mothers.
Our policy on the sales of
breeding stock vs. meat animals - We've thought long and hard on this
topic and have decided that the majority of our Red Wattles will be sold as meat
animals, either at weaning time or later on as butcher hogs or by the individual
meat cut. We will have some breeding quality animals for sale from time to time
as they are born and pass our stringent quality controls. Our reason behind this policy is as such. In order to preserve and improve on the quality of any breed of animal, only the best of the best should be used for breeding. The vast majority of animals being born are not of exceptional quality and should not be used for breeding. That doesn't mean that they are not good animals, it just means that they are not exceptional. The Red Wattle Hog has a small gene pool and so while some may think that every animal should be used for breeding, Jim and I think that it is even more important then ever to ensure that the animals being used for breeding are the best examples of the breed that they can be. If its not an animal that we would not be thrilled to use as a breeding animal, we will not sell it to you as one. You have our word on it!!
Please contact us via email at info@heritagefarmsnw.com for more information on what we have available.
Email now to get on the waiting list for piglets or finished meat. We've had a lot of interest in this breed and we don't want you to get left out!
